Let's Make Some Fun Pinwheel Cards!

Today I am getting together with 2 of my very favourite girlfriends for a fun & creative 'card day'.
We are meeting for a few hours so we can make cards. Each of us  must come up with a design for the group to make.
After pouring throught some magazines and books for ideas, I decided to design cards that included a fun & whimsical pinwheel.
I came up with 3 different colour combinations...blue, orange & green.
 Pink,gray and green.
 Blue, orange & yellow.
And I added a birthday greeting since it's the type of  card we use most often.
Here they are....I love how they turned out!

How To  Make A Pinwheel:

  • .Cut a square in the size that will fit your project. I used a 3x3 inch square for these cards
  • Cut an "X" on your square, being sure not to cut thru all the way thru the middle or you will have 4 separate pieces of paper.
  • Then fold one side of each triangle down as shown. Secure with a medium size  glue dot {or whatever adhesive works for you....glue, hot glue, etc.
Keep folding the same side of each triangle to the middle as shown.
When all 4 sides of the pinwheel are folded in, then add a small  button using another glue dot.
Then glue the pinwheel to the project.
Note: This pinwheel does not move. It is for decoration only.
Although I used my pinwheel to make cards, you could use it for many other things like a package decoration, or it could be glued to little sticks for decorations for food or plant pots, or whatever you heart desires!

Have you made any cards lately?

{Thank you so much to Aimee at It's Overflowing for featuring this project here.}
