There is one dish that always goes over well in my house...and that is grilled burgers. And it doesn't have to be summer either...my husband and son will eat grilled burgers for any meal on any day. My husband has grilled burgers during snow storms and pouring rain...he just loves burgers. And I think grilled burgers are a quintessential Canadian dish, don't you? It is something that everyone enjoys, especially in summer when the hot weather arrives and grilling is preferred over a hot kitchen. And who can resist the delicious flavor and crunch of Bick's Pickles? Not me! I am a pickle fanatic...I love all kinds of Bick's Pickles including Garlic Dill Pickles, Yum Yum Sweet Pickles, Sandwich Savers, and Banana Peppers. We love making our burgers with all the groceries and experimenting with new flavor combinations, which is how I came up with the Dill BLT Burger. It's a twist on the traditional BLT burger with the addition of dill mayo. This flavour combination was actually my son's suggestion because he loves dill pickles. And living in Edmonton with it's Ukrainian heritage, dill is a very popular flavour added to many dishes.
Making dill mayo to bring a new taste to burgers is super easy and can be done while the burgers are on the grill. Just chop up some Bick's Dill Pickles.
And add the chopped pickles, along with some pickle juice, to a scoop of mayo and stir.
Perfecto! Done.
Then construct the usual bacon-lettuce-tomato burger with a nice layer of dill mayo. Mmm.
And the nice thing about dill mayo? You get some crunchy good pickle and mayo with every bite of burger. {I always hate it when the pickle on my burger is gone, but I still have bites of burger left.}
