Bike Ride Picnic

One of the things I love about summer is the chance to get out and go for a ride on my pretty pink bike. And it's even more fun when I have a friend join me and we breeze through town to get to a delightful park on the other side for a leisurely picnic and chat. There is something so wonderful about doing the things that you used to do as a kid. And we have a lot of beautiful bike trails in our city to explore!

I got my pretty new wheels about 5 years ago, and I try to get out as often as I can, but sometimes making a date with a friend is a sure way to make the ride actually happen.

On this day, I packed a picnic lunch for a friend and I to enjoy.

The picnic I created  included simple sandwiches, cookies, green apples and strawberry lemonade with lots of ice in mason jars, and it all fit nicely into my bike basket.

 We didn't go for a very long ride, but it was nice just the same. And after spreading out a blanket, the munchies and the lemonade were perfect.

 The pink lemonade was so refreshing. I included lots of ice! You have to have ice!

A Pretty In Pink Picnic...

I think it's time for another picnic, don't you?

I live in Northern Alberta where the winters are cold, cold, cold;  so when the weather is warm enough for flip flops..it really is something to celebrate!

Today I created this pretty picnic for myself and a friend, and I went with my all time fav colour....pink.

 I used some simple white paper doilies, polka dot straws and some little flowers from my front porch pots to jazz up some pink lemonade bottles.

 These little deli boxes, which hold paninis and salad, are tied up with pink twine and topped off with a napkin & fork.

 And a little fruit and sweets round out the lunch.

 When food is prettied up...it tastes infinitely better!

A Little Ducky Picnic....

This is a story of a little ducky picnic.

 Of how some cute little bags and baskets in a dollar store became an inspiration for something sweet for littles...little people, little sons & daughters, little friends,....little grandchildren.

 How a simple lunch of sandwiches, veggies & fruit...

 can be packed into a impossibly adorable yellow ducky bag.

 And how a mini vanilla cupcake with soft yellow frosting and sprinkles....

 can be tucked into a tiny paper basket as a dessert for small appetites.

 

And how cute sillies like a mini-paper windmill and scented bubbles in a cheerful bucket...

can become a wonderful picnic for any occasion that arises. Or no occasion at all.
